New Delhi: The Government, on Monday, released Rs 22 crore to 11 affected states to launch drives to contain dengue said Director of National Vector Borne Disease Control Programme, P L Joshi.
The money will be utilised for buying fogging machines and larvicides and launching awareness campaigns, he said.
One more person succumbed to dengue in the capital on Monday, taking the toll to 36, even as 27 fresh cases were admitted at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences.
Manoj Kumar (22), who was brought to the casualty at AIIMS from Aligarh on Sunday, died early morning, Medical Superintendent D K Sharma said.
Eight hundreds people were screened for suspected dengue in the last 24 hours ending 0800 hours IST at the premier institute, of which 200 are under medical observation in the casualty while 27 were admitted, he added.
As many as 176 dengue patients are admitted at the AIIMS, while 43 had been discharged since Sunday. The national capital has witnessed a spurt in dengue deaths with six persons succumbing to the mosquito-borne viral disease in a single day on Saturday.
Nearly 1,500 people have been afflicted by the disease in the Capital this year with most of the cases of reported since August.
