Two KSEB employees in the district who had downed a peg or two were in for a shock the other day when the power utility’s vigilance wing nabbed them red-handed.
The KSEB said in a statement here on Thursday that a sub-engineer and a contract driver of the Vattappara electrical section office have been suspended for getting drunk during office hours.
KSEB vigilance DySP S Aji arrested sub-engineer Jose Raj and contract driver Suresh during a lightning inspection at the Vattappara office on Tuesday. Both were found drunk in office.
The inspection was conducted on the orders of KSEB chief vigilance officer N Ramachandran. The inspection at this particular office was conducted on the basis of a complaint, a KSEB spokesperson said.
Similar inspections are planned at all KSEB offices in the State in the weeks ahead, Chief Vigilance Officer N Ramachandran said.
