New Delhi: The Blueline bus has struck again. Fourteen-year-old Karan Sharma was killed after he came under the rear wheels of a Blueline bus that he was disembarking from.

The incident took place in the Vikaspuri area in West Delhi.

The driver of the bus, which plies between Uttam Nagar and ISBT, fled from the scene after the accident and a hunt is on to arrest.

As the news of the accident spread, hundreds of angry residents took to the streets and laid seige to the Uttam Nagar bus depot for sometime.

Police have registered a case of rash driving and causing death due to negligence against the driver and impounded the vehicle.

With the 'Blueline death toll' going up to four since last Sunday, the Delhi government has finally woken up and decided to start a drive to control the menace.

The government plans to increase the number of surprise checks across the city.

Blueline buses have been involved in as many as 60 fatal accidents so far this year in the capital, earning these the notorious name of "killer" buses.

A blueline bus caused two accidents in the city on Saturday killing one person and injuring another while another had crushed to death a teenager after triggering a massive pile-up last Sunday.

On Friday, the Delhi government cancelled the permits of 600 Blueline buses and Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit had said the buses will be taken off the roads of the capital in a phased manner.
