In a tragic turn of events in Akbarpur Tigri village, located in Uttar Pradesh’s Bijnor district, two young girls reportedly died after being poisoned by their stepmother. The incident occurred on Wednesday in the Chandpur tehsil area while their grandfather was away in Moradabad. The girls, who were reportedly poisoned while drinking milk, died in agony.
The tragic incident occurred when the girls’ grandfather, who had been caring for them and their brother, left for Moradabad. During his absence, the girls went to play at their stepmother’s house, where the poisoning is believed to have taken place. The village was abuzz with shock and grief upon learning of the children’s deaths. Local authorities were alerted, and both the stepmother, Nazreen, and the father, Farman, were detained by the police. The bodies of the girls have been sent for postmortem examination as part of the ongoing investigation.
Farman, a resident of Akbarpur Tigri, was previously married to a woman named Dilshan for ten years, with whom he has two daughters and a son. Two years ago, Farman divorced Dilshan and remarried Nazreen, also from the same village. Farman and Nazreen have a child together. Following the divorce, Farman’s father, Nasruddin, took responsibility for raising the children from the first marriage.
On the day of the incident, Farman had travelled to Moradabad to procure medicine for his father, leaving the girls in the care of their stepmother. The girls had gone to play at Nazreen’s house, where they were allegedly poisoned. Reports indicate that the children fell ill with stomach pain and died before they could be taken to a hospital.
SP Abhishek Jha confirmed the police’s arrival at the scene, noting that initial investigations suggest the children were poisoned while under the care of their stepmother. The allegations point towards the stepmother and father being responsible for the tragedy. The police are currently questioning both individuals as part of their investigation.
