Faulty transfer list of teachers resented

KORAPUT: Zilla Parishad president, Ashok Kumar Pangi has strongly reacted to the arbitrary transfers of primary school teachers in the district in violation of the policy laid down by  transfer committee.Pangi and the committee members alleged that the transfer list released was irregular and not as per discussion. The request to accommodate lady teachers  at road point schools has been ignored and they have been transferred to remote locations. Moreover, the  district administration also ignored the directives of Secretary, School and Mass Education, Aparajita Sarangi, they alleged. The list also violates the 16-point guidelines issued by the Directorate of Primary Education.As per the guidelines, no teacher can be transferred from one municipality or block (considered as one unit) without his or her consent. Similarly, no teacher retiring  before 2013 can be transferred. As many as 1400 teachers were shifted in the list which could well be the largest transfer chain for teachers in one district.The District Inspector of Schools, Subash Choudhury has admitted the defects in the transfer list.
