New Delhi: A policeman accidentally shot dead a football fan on Sunday, during a confrontation between supporters of rival clubs in Italy.
The shooting happened after Lazio and Yuventus supporters clashed at a motorway restaurant near Arezzo.
Twenty-five-year-old Gabriele Sandri, was killed inside a car of Lazio fans when a policeman opened fire to stop the clashes.
After the incident, Italy's football league postponed Lazio's match with Inter Milan.
Italy is battling a serious football hooligan problem and had even suspended matches for some time in February, when a policeman was killed in riots outside a top-flight match in Catania.
