CHENNAI: Reckitt Benckiser held a Scientific Conference at The Grand Hyatt on September 11, subsequent to the launch of its Power Brand Gaviscon in Tamil Nadu. The conference featured a discussion on ‘Management of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) in the 21st century.’ The workshop was conducted by Dr Robert Heading, President, Association of Gastrointestinal Physiologists and Professor Pali Hungin, Founding member of the UK and the European Society for Primary Care Gastroenterology.Dr KR Palaniswamy, former President - Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy of India and Dr Shobna J Bhatia, Professor and Head Department of Gastroenterology, Seth GS Medical College and KEM Hospital, along with Dr Heading and Dr Hungin moderated various informative sessions on the nature and presentation of heartburn in India, management of heartburn and optimising control of reflux that causes heartburn. During the course of the seminar, the delegates also shared their experiences with Indian doctors.
