At the Choti Chavni building in Ayodhya near Karsewakpuram, the first floor has become literally a ‘laddoo factory’ with enticing desi ghee laddoos in thousands lying neatly arranged in thalis, all made fresh here and hundreds of people at work on them.
As many as 13.5 lakh laddoos are being prepared here as the special Prasad of Lord Ram which will be given to the 8,000-odd invitees to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony of the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22, the workers of VHP, RSS and BJP, and the general public from January 23 when the temple opens for public darshan.
The laddoos are being prepared and packed in three types of steel containers — an 11-laddoo packing for the invitees to the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony, a 7-laddoo packing for VHP, RSS and BJP workers, and a 5-laddoo packing for the general public from January 23. The steel containers of different sizes have stickers of the Ram Temple to show it as the blessing of Lord Ram.
But making 13.5 lakh laddoos is no mean task and volunteers have been working here round-the-clock, making sure these laddoos are ready by January 22 and ensuring they are of the same size and shape and packing them neatly into steel containers.
NN Pandey is overseeing the work here and bringing in all his experience as a retired civil servant. He was the home secretary of Jharkhand and is here as a follower of the late Devraha Hans Babaji under whose auspices the task is being done.
“Devraha Baba had said that Ram Janmabhoomi belongs to Lord Ram and will be of Lord Ram. We are making this Prasad celebrating the fulfilment of his wish,” Pandey told News18.
Each laddoo container is being packed in a bag which will also have three books on the history of the Ram Janmabhoomi movement and the contribution of Devraha Baba; an angavastra is also a part of the bag.
Thousands of such bags are ready too and will be handed over to VHP workers at Karsewakpura on Friday, Pandey said. “This is a pious work and the biggest seva. We hope all Ram Bhakts are pleased with this prasad and take it back home to their families so that the divinity of Lord Ram reaches their households,” says one among a group of women neatly packing the laddoos in the containers.
Pandey says the distribution of the prasad will continue after January 22 for the general public.
