THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The VJT Hall will host the ‘Hues of Silence Degree Show-2012’ - a first-of-its-kind event staged by students of the first batch of Bachelor of Fine Arts (Hearing Impaired) of National Institute of Speech and Hearing (NISH) from May 27 to 29. Chief Secretary K Jayakumar IAS will inaugurate the ‘Hues of Silence’ on Sunday at 10 am.As part of the rehabilitation activities of the deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals, NISH is conducting the first-ever degree course in Fine Arts, affiliated to the University of Kerala.Eight students who have chosen painting, from among 23 students, will display six each of their paintings. The four students who specialise in sculpture will display fibreglass creations, metal-embossed art works, wood and stone carvings. Applied arts students will display their 23 creations done using Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and Corel Draw on different social and service themes.
