'If You are Found Gossiping in the Garden or Hallway...': Rajasthan Health Department Issues Strict Order
In a recent meeting, Principal Secretary (Health) Gayatri Rathore urged timely completion of departmental schemes, programs, and budgets. She emphasized zero pendency and warned that delays in strengthening public health facilities will not be tolerated

In a surprise order, the Health Department in Rajasthan has prohibited its employees from ‘roaming around’. The order states that action will be taken against employees found gossiping or passing time during work hours in the building’s garden, hall, or gallery. It further states that any delay in work will not be tolerated.

According to a report published by Times News Network, the Health Department in Jaipur has forbidden employees of the Health Directorate from roaming in the hallway (that is, gallery) during working hours, sitting with colleagues, and strolling in the gardens.

It has been reported that the purpose behind this order is to ensure that employees remain seated at their desks during working hours. It was expected that this measure would improve work output, the report stated.

During a recent meeting, Principal Secretary (Health) Gayatri Rathore said that departmental schemes, programs, budget announcements, and other work should be completed within the stipulated time frame. She emphasized on working with the mission of zero pendency to strengthen public health facilities. She also stated that delays in work would not be tolerated.

Following Rathore’s instructions, Director (Non-Gazetted) of the Health Department, Rakesh Kumar Sharma, issued this order on October 18.

The order states that employees in the Health Directorate are often found missing from their seats and roaming around the premises, leading to work delays and an increase in pending cases. This tarnishes the image of the Health Department in the eyes of the state government.

Additionally, employees from various districts who visit the Health Directorate for work also face problems due to these delays. The department ordered employees to utilize their time effectively and settle pending work during office hours. It was also ordered to take action against employees who waste their time.
