In Kerala’s Thattathumala, Roadside Library Named Pusthakoodu Opened For Public
This is a joint collaboration between the libraries of Thattathumala KM Library and the Chirayinkeezhu Taluk Library Council.

Reading is the best kind of pass time, which activates your brain to think and imagine, a very important cognitive exercise. When a book worm is given a chance to read any book of their liking for free, the experience is more than heavenly. Local18 visited the opening of a small library in Kerala, aimed to promote reading culture and urging others to develop the habit of reading. According to Local18, the library is located in the Thattathumala town of Kerala; it is named Pusthakoodu. The small library is set up at the Thattathumala junction. It is a joint collaboration between the libraries of Thattathumala KM Library and the Chirayinkeezhu Taluk Library Council. K M Manjunath was invited to inaugurate the Pusthakoodu library. As per more information, the public can donate books here, pick a book to read and return it safely. Library president A Chandrasekharan Nair graced the occasion with his presence. It was also attended by B Jayathilakan, a member of the Taluk Library Council.

The attendees also included K G Biju, G Vikraman, G Jayashankar, EA Sajim and Lukeman. Librarian P Roy stated the vote of thanks during the event. Members inaugurate the library, as the others raise their hands to give an applause.

According to information given on a website, the world’s earliest libraries were discovered to have existed around 5000 years ago. It reportedly existed in the Southwest Asian region of the world. Some of the most popular libraries in our country include the National Library of India in Kolkata, the Raza Library in Rampur, along with the Nehru Memorial Museum and Library, located in Delhi and the Asiatic Society of Mumbai Library, in Mumbai.
