Former MP A C Jose has come out against the top leadership of the Congress regarding the delay in the KPCC revamp. Speaking at a press conference, A C Jose that the group in-fighting in the party has resulted in the delay in the revamp, and that he sent a letter to Congress president Sonia Gandhi in this regard.
According to Jose, the group fights affected the grass-root-level functioning of the party. “Though talks on the revamp began three years ago, no decision has come out. It is unfortunate that some of the members have been continuously functioning as KPCC members, MPs, MLAs and ministers for the last 30 years. This has affected the opportunities for young politicians in the party. There are many vibrant leaders in the Youth Congress yet to be given chances,” he said.
Furthermore, the Vaikom report failed to see light following group intervention. He also came hard upon the green politics and the Nelliampathy visit, which have become a headache for the party. “These developments have adversely affected the party workers. The MLAs should have avoided the visit to Nelliampathy. But statements made by P C George and other leaders are also not good indicators,” he said. He added that leaders should avoid public statements on various issues. “A letter has been sent to the Congress president in connection with restraining the leaders from publicly speaking on sensitive issues. I have requested Sonia Gandhi to intervene in the leadership revamp,” he said.
