Mumbai: Finally the verdict on Pooja Bhatt’s much-hyped 'Jism 2' is out. The film, which marked the debut of Sunny Leone, first ever-porn star in Bollywood has managed to bring in collections on the weekend but the film has got mixed reports. While the audiences have not favoured the film, the huge numbers in spite of being a Ramzan release has made the producers happy.
The Bhatt camp is said to be celebrating, as at some places the collections are bigger than their biggest hits 'Murder 2' and 'Jannat 2'. On the other hand, 'Kyaa Super Kool Hain Hum' has managed to hold its fort against 'Jism 2' and sustained in its second weekend itself. The collections of 'Jism 2' are around Rs 21 crore in its first weekend including the paid previews on Thursday night and 'Kya Super Kool Hai Hum' has raked in Rs 5 crore on the second weekend, making its total in 10 days to be around Rs 40 crore.
Trade analyst Amod Mehra says, "Kya Super Kool Hai Hum is not bad at all in its second weekend. What looked like a loosing proposition initially will turn out to be a safe proposition for its investors. However, 'Jism 2' opened reasonably well but saw a 40 per cent drop on the second day. The film neither has any sex nor any story. While Pooja Bhatt and Ponty Chadha who bought the all-India rights of the film will make money, the single distributors will find it difficult to sail through."
Atul Mohan, trade analyst says, "Jism 2 needed at least two-three love making scenes and since they are not there, the audience are disappointed. It is a classic case of promising the audience Biryani and delivering plain rice. On the other hand, KSKHH is a winner all the way."
Girish Wankhede, spokesperson of a multiplex chain says, "Jism 2 opened average in Mumbai but in our small town properties like Thane and Nashik, it was huge. Similarly Hollywood film 'Total Recall' opened at 25 per cent and dropped further but 'Step Up' has shown steady rise in collections."
