A new update to Microsoft's Xbox 360 will bring voice control to television entertainment.

New Delhi: A new update to Microsoft's Xbox 360 will bring voice control to television entertainment. The update launching on December 6 will initially be available in English in the US, Canada and the UK for Zune video, Xbox LIVE Marketplace and select Microsoft content partners.

Don Mattrick, president of the interactive entertainment business at Microsoft explains the new feature as "a single box that ties together all the content you want, made easily accessible through a universal, natural, voice-directed search."

The voice-enabled Xbox 360 will let users search for their favourite movies or TV shows by simple voice commands. Microsoft believes the power of Kinect combined with the intelligence of Bing search will turn your voice into the ultimate remote control.

For users without Kinect for Xbox 360, text search will be available in Xbox LIVE markets.
