The IPL Chairman has been booked in the 2004 Nagaur Land Row case.

New Delhi: Indian Premier League Chairman Lalit Modi has been booked for forgery and criminal conspiracy in the 2004 Nagaur Land Row case.

Reports say that Modi had his eye on the president's post of the Rajasthan Cricket Association in 2004 but was not a domicile of the state. So he bought land in Nagaur through forgery.

It has been alleged that in order to be the RCA president, Modi bought land in Nagaur in 2004 using forged signature and he was also made Nagaur cricket association president.

He also did not reveal the fact that he was charged with keeping narcotics substance during his stay in California.

The case has been revisited by the Congress government which is now in power in Rajasthan.

Meanwhile, many are calling this a case of political vendetta.

Earlier this month, former chief minister Vasundhara Raje was charged with fraud in another land scam. Lalit Modi is a close confidante of Raje. And it was only a matter of time before he too came under the scanner.
