BANGALORE: Infosys’ Executive Co-chairman Kris Gopalakrishnan on Monday said that education in India has to be liberalised on the lines of economic liberalisation of 1991. He was addressing the students of Kristu Jayanti College. In response to a question on what he expects from the forthcoming national budget for education sector, he said, “I expect the government to continue its investment in education. We have to liberalise education to allow different models to come in, so we can determine what works right.” Elucidating on the importance and relevance of IT in education, Gopalakrishnan said that the traditional teacher-classroom concept was being redefined by technology.
