New Delhi: Four-time world champion Mary Kom has called for the inclusion of women's boxing in the Olympic Games.

The boxer said she was hopeful that the International Olympic Committee (IOC) at its Executive Board meeting, scheduled for August 13, would take the decision in favour of the sport.

"Boxing is my career and my life. I am just hopeful that the IOC gives us female boxers the perfect answer," Mary Kom was quoted as saying in International Boxing Association (AIBA) website on Wednesday.

The 25-year-old from Manipur continues to follow her dream and aim for the ultimate glory, competing in the Olympic Games.

Mary Kom has competed in all five AIBA Women's World Championships since its debut in 2001. She has been world's most successful women boxer, claiming four gold and one silver medals.
