New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi said on Tuesday that action against the company selling vibrating condoms was unwarranted as there were no reports of it causing health hazards.
"We have not received complaints about health hazards caused by Crezendo, the vibrating ring sold with condoms by Hindustan Latex Ltd (HLL), and thus any action is unwarranted," PTI quoted Vishnoi as saying.
However, state Public Works Department Minister Kailash Vijayvergiya, who had described the product as a "sex toy" and wanted a ban on it, claimed the health department was not concerned about the product till it caused health problems.
Last week, the Madhya Pradesh government had banned the sale of Crezendo condom in the state saying it's against Indian culture.
Vijayvargiya had taken up cudgels against Hindustan Latex Limited's condom on behalf of the government.
The condom pack, which was launched by HLL six months back, comes with a vibrating ring.
Meanwhile Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan also reacted to the issue and said anything didn’t uphold the Indian culture would not be accepted.
