THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chief Minister Oommen Chandy has sent one more letter to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalithaa on the Mullaperiyar dam issue. This is the second letter of Chandy to Jayalalithaa since the current standoff between the two states began on the Mullaperiyar dam issue. The letter details the stance of the all-party meet held here on Tuesday, which called for realising a new dam in lieu of the existing dam and lowering the water level to 120 feet as a prelude, in the wake of recurring tremors in the Idukki region and the threat to lakhs of people inhabiting the five districts in Kerala.The letter also refers to the reported attacks against Keralites in various parts of Tamil Nadu and urged Jayalalithaa to ensure that the violence is stopped and good neighbourly relations between the two states is maintained.
