Despite drastic pollution-control measures being taken, air quality has not improved.

With just 11 days to go for the biggest sporting extravaganza to unfold in Beijing, the air quality in and around the city is still a major concern.

On sunday the two main venues, the 'Bird's Nest' and the 'Water Cube were covered in smog, making them invisible from just 800 metres.

Despite drastic pollution-control measures that have been in effect for a week, Beijing's air quality doesn't seems to have improved.
