BHUBANESWAR: Academicians from 60 schools across the twin cities discussed the gaps in the current education system and how technological innovations would make learning at primary level more qualitative, interesting and meaningful experience, at a panel discussion -- Eduvate India 2011 -- here on Thursday. The panelists said use of innovative products like interactive touch-read pens and curriculum-based comic books by schools would promote self-learning among children at primary level. The most crucial challenge that teachers face in their 40 minutes of classroom session is handling different intelligence levels of the students and this can be addressed by innovative and visually-appealing teaching methods. “The disparity in aptitude of students needs to be addressed and they should be engaged in subject-related topics through entertaining media like videos and animations,” said Pavitra Rout, a teacher. The panel discussion was initiated by Mexus Education. Anil Goyal, Director of Mexus Education, unveiled its holistic education programme - The Iken School EcoSystem. Goyal said through the programme not for just children but their parents can stay updated on the performance of their wards and determine their career orientations.
