Red sanders worth Rs 8 lakh seized

NELLORE: Atmakur forest officials seized 71 red sander logs worth `8 lakh form Kadirinaidupalle village in Marripadu mandal in the wee hours of Wednesday.
According to Atmakur forest ranger YS Naidu, they raided a truck loaded with the precious logs kept ready for transportation on a tipoff and seized them. However, the smugglers managed to escape. A case has been registered.
