HYDERABAD: Justice L. Narsimha Reddy of the High Court on Tuesday directed that S.Ramakrishna would not function as director (personnel) of AP Electricity Regulatory Commission and made clear that it was open for the chairman to make alternative arrangements to carry out the functions of the director.
He further directed the state vigilance directorate to inquire into the charges that he had produced false certificates and obtained the said job. The judge was dealing with a batch of petitions including the ones filed by the employees' union and Ramakrishna. While the union maintained that the management was not taking action against the erring official, Ramakrishan challenged the government's direction to the commission to take action against him. Even a quo warranto petition has been filed against the official alleging that he did not have the experience prescribed for the post and that he obtained employment by producing a false certificate. The judge was visibly displeased when it was pointed out that in the earlier litigation when the APERC had sought vacation of an interim order Ramakrishna had obtained, he called for an explanation from the lawyer as to why and at whose instance he had filed the petition.
