Police on Friday claimed to have busted a gang of robbers active in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad with the arrest of two persons, an official said told reporters.
Shekhar, a resident of Railway Road and Santosh, a native of Bhopra, who were wanted in several cases of robbery and chain- snatching, were arrested from Kavinagar area last evening," a senior police officer in Ghaziabad said.
Acting on a tip off, police laid a trap and arrested them, he said, adding that three gold chains, two country-made pistols and a bike were recovered from them.
The duo on Thursday had also tried to snatch a gold chain from a woman in Kavinagar, but due to her alertness, they fled the spot, he said.
"Police are now gathering details of hideouts of their accomplices, who would be arrested soon. The members of this gang would commit crime in Delhi, Noida and Ghaziabad," he said.
