Robby Ginepri earned a wild card into the French Open's main draw from the US Tennis Association.

The 31-year-old Ginepri clinched the wild card Saturday by defeating James McGee, 6-1, 6-4, in the semi-finals of the Wild Card Challenge in Tallahassee, Florida.

"I'm thrilled to go back to Paris, it's a special place for me," Ginepri said.

Ginepri, a 2005 US Open semi-finalist, is ranked 442nd. He returned in 2012 after missing almost two years following a mountain-bike accident that broke his left elbow.

Taylor Townsend and Grace Min are tied in the women's standings. Townsend would clinch the wild card if she wins her semi-final match in Indian Harbour Beach, Fla.

Players vie for the wild card based on results on the USTA Pro Circuit.
