HINDUPUR: Additional district judge Gangi Reddy ordered police on Friday to hand over Rs 35 lakh cash seized by them at Kodikonda check post in April last year, to IT department.The judge rejected two petitions including one filed by Bengaluru based Sankaranarayana Consultations and also another by Harish Nanda Shetty, Sohan Shetty and Chandrasekhar, claiming the cash while the IT department also filed a petition for the cash. The judge said that the petitioners had failed to produce evidence, for the claim of cash seized by police and had set aside  petitions and ruled in favour of IT department.Police had seized the cash which was carried by Harish Nanda Shetty, Sohan Shetty in a vehicle at Kodikonda check post on June 17 last year. The duo and vehicle driver Chandrasekhar, along with cash, were produced before court of additional district judge. The three were later let off on bail. On the order of the court, police kept the cash in safe custody of SBI, Hindupur, till the case, including claims were disposed off.
