MYSORE: After consuming the chocolates distributed by the founder of their school, about 40 students of Mahaveera School at Brindavan Extension in Mysore fell ill on Thursday.According to the eye witnesses, the founder of the school, Dejamma had been to America recently and returned to city on Wednesday. She had brought a bagful of chocolates which was distributed to students on Thursday at about 12 noon.Immediately, few children started vomiting and suffered from diarrhoea, and were admitted to ED hospital on KRS Road. They are reportedly out of danger.Food Safety Officer of Mysore City Coporation, HJ Suryanarayana said that they have collected the samples of chocolates distributed to the children, and would send it for testing at Divisional laboratory tomorrow.“The covers of the chocolates are stale, but the date of expiry printed on the cover is January 2012. We will know the reason for illness after we receive the lab report,” Suryanarayana told TNIE.
