HYDERABAD: The Telangana Congress Monitoring Group (TCMG) comprising senior leaders M Satyanarayana Rao, P Goverdhan Reddy, P Narsa Reddy, KR Amos, B Kamalakar Rao and others has decided to observe Deeksha on August 9 in the state capital and at all district headquarters in the Telangana region.It has also decided to support the general strike to be launched by government employees, teachers and workers in the region.Briefing newsmen about the decisions taken at the TCMG meeting held at Vasavi Seva Centre organised by convener G Niranjan, chief convener R Ananda Bhaskar said that it was a "now or never" situation to achieve statehood for Telangana. The TCMG wanted the Telangana Congress MPs, MLAs and MLCs to be firm on resignations in order to increase the pressure on the Centre.Senior leader and Rajya Sabha member K Keshava Rao, who was the chief guest at the meeting, assured that they would stick to their resignations. All the Telangana Congress leaders and workers would take part in the Deeksha on August 9, he declared. The TCMG leaders demanded postponement of the SI recruitment examination to avert any untoward incident in the region. It was not proper for the Government to conduct examination before deletion of Clause 14(F) of the Presidential Order by the Centre, they said.
