Ajay Devgn and Tabu starrer Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha was released last week and it has not performed as per expectations. While the box office of the film continues to be a subject of discussion, a new report has claimed to reveal the fees each star has charged for the film. As per the report, Ajay Devgn took a massive paycut for the Neeraj Pandey directorial. However, despite the paycut, he was still the highest paid star of the film.
According to a KoiMoi report, Ajay was paid Rs 25 crore, Rs 5 crore lesser than what he was paid for Maidaan. Although the paycut, Ajay’s fees was much higher than Tabu’s fees in the film. The report claimed that Tabu was paid Rs 3 crores for the film. The report also stated that Saiee Manjrekar was paid Rs 55 lakh whereas Shantanu Maheshwari’s fees was Rs 35 lakh. News18 couldn’t verify the report at the time of publishing.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha did not open to positive reviews. News18 gave the film a three-star rating and said, “Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha seems like an extremely stretched-out affair. The first half is particularly slow and will constantly test your patience. Krishna’s scenes in jail, which give a sneak peek into the rigmarole of his captive life, could have been easily condensed. The choppy editing reaches its peak when the film ends abruptly. You’ll keep waiting for a post-credit scene, but that never comes. Yes, there’s beauty in unfinished tales too, but this ending is way too jarring to be true.” The box office has also not worked in its favour.
Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha marks Ajay and Tabu’s tenth film together and fans were eager to watch them together as lovers. Director Neeraj Panday revealed in an interview before the film’s release that he wasn’t aware of their off-screen camaraderie but he always knew that they were the perfect fit for the film.
