Alia Bhatt spoke about her upcoming film Love & War for the first time in an exclusive chat with News18 Showsha. The Sanjay Leela Bhansali film was announced earlier this year and broke the internet for multiple reasons. The film is titled Love & War and it not only reunites Alia with her Gangubai Kathiawadi director but also marks Ranbir’s first film with Bhansali since Saawariya. This will also mark her second film with Ranbir after Brahmastra. The film also stars Vicky Kaushal, who worked with Alia in Raazi and Ranbir in Sanju.
Speaking with us, Alia said that she is excited for the film for various reasons. “There are so many layers to look forward to, that I don’t know which one to pick. First and foremost, the pleasure and honour of working with Sanjay sir, once again, under his guidance and gaze, flourish is step number one. You can go anywhere with it because of his attention to detail and his attention to you,” Alia said.
But as an audience member, Alia said she intrigued to see her husband, Ranbir Kapoor in it. “I, as an audience, am more excited to see him [Bhansali] and Ranbir collaborate, again, after so many years. I am like, ‘wow, what’s that going to be like?” Talking about reuniting with Vicky Kaushal, Alia added, “Vicky and I coming together again; Ranbir and Vicky created magic with Sanju. So, it is a lot of combinations.”
“At the end of the day, the intention is to keep your head down and work hard. Not let the other excitement get in the way, because the excitement about the film and the material is the most important. When you are on set, you just have to give your 180 percent,” Alia said.
While we wait to see how Love & War pans out, Alia Bhatt recently turned storyteller with her book Ed Finds A Home. The book was launched recently. On the film front, Alia will next be seen in Vasan Bala’s Jigraa with Vedang Raina. The film is slated to release on October 11, 2024.
