Amitabh Bachchan and Rani Mukerji iconic film Black has completed 19 years today and on this special occasion the makers have released the film on OTT platform, Netflix. The good news was shared by Amitabh Bachchan. He took to his social media handle to share a video and made the announcement. In no time it went viral and fans were seen expressing their excitement in the comment section.

Taking to his Instagram handle, Amitabh Bachchan wrote, “It’s been 19 years since Black released, and today we’re celebrating it’s first ever digital release on Netflix! Debraj and Michelle’s journey has been an inspiration to all of us, and we hope it instills you with strength and compassion.” One of the fans wrote, “Sheer brilliance onscreen.” Another wrote, “Classic.” Many dropped heart emojis in the comment section.

Directed by the acclaimed filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, “Black” unfolds a poignant narrative that delves into the profound relationship between a deaf-blind girl, Michelle McNally (played by Rani Mukerji), and her dedicated teacher, Debraj Sahai (portrayed by Amitabh Bachchan). Set against the backdrop of an unconventional bond that transcends barriers of communication and understanding, the film navigates through the complexities of human emotions with unparalleled sensitivity and depth.

On the work front, Amitabh has a series of projects in the pipeline. These include Kalki 2898 AD with Prabhas and Deepika Padukone, and Vettaiyan with Rajinikanth. Vettaiyan marks Amitabh’s Tamil film debut. He also recently wrapped a season of Kaun Banega Crorepati.

Rani Mukerji was last seen in Mr Chatterjee Vs Norway. Speculations are rife that Rani might already be gearing for another film and this time it’ll be helmed by her close friend. According to a source close to the entertainment portal Bollywood Hungama, Rani wants to keep the momentum going with the next project. The source revealed, “Yes, Rani Mukerji has decided on her next venture. It will be a small budget film produced by Yash Raj Films itself. Interestingly, the venture will be directed by Rani’s good friend Vaibhavi Merchant. Right now it is still too early to say anything, besides the entire team is keeping details under tight wraps.”
