Ever since the promotions for Anand Pandit’s upcoming production Chehre started, netizens have been wondering why Rhea Chakraborty is absent from its posters and teaser. Rhea was announced as a cast member of Chehre in July 2019 but has been absent from the film’s promotions so far. Now, producer Anand Pandit has broken his silence on the same, saying that they have chosen to stay quiet about the matter for the time being.
He told Mid-day, “We did not react because we have decided not to talk about Rhea at this moment. We will answer questions regarding her at the right time. At this juncture, there is nothing more I can say.”
Chehre, starring Amitabh Bachchan and Emraan Haashmi, has been confirmed for theatrical release on April 9. The thriller has been helmed by Rumy Jafry and produced by Anand Pandit. Chehre also features, Siddhanth Kapoor, Krystle Dsouza, Raghubir Yadav and Annu Kapoor. The film is produced by Anand Pandit Motion Pictures and Saraswati Entertainment Private Limited.
Earlier this year, Rumi had said that Rhea Chakraborty, who was let out from jail on bail in October in the drugs case related to her boyfriend, actor Sushant Singh Rajput’s death, would soon return to the big screen. The Chehre director was a close friend of Sushant as well.
Rumi, who was scheduled to begin work on a film with Sushant and Rhea in 2020, had also said that he was positive that Rhea would bounce back. “I am confident she will get through this phase. Everybody around will advise you to be brave, but only the one going through (the ordeal) knows how difficult it is. Time is the best healer; with time, she will be fine. She is a talented artiste and will be ready to bounce back,” he had told Mid-Day.
