Fighter: Army Veteran GD Bakshi Says Hrithik Roshan Gives 'Tom Cruise Run for His Money', He Reacts

Hrithik Roshan’s Fighter has received a seal of approval from Maj Gen (Dr) GD Bakshi SM, VSM (retd). The Army veteran took to X, previously known as Twitter, to reveal that he has watched the Siddharth Anand film and found it as a ‘befitting tribute’ to the air warriors. He went on to praise Hrithik’s performance in the film and said that he gave Tom Cruise a run for his money, referring to Tom Cruise’s blockbuster franchise Top Gun. The review received a reaction from Hrithik Roshan.

Taking to X, Maj Gen (Dr) GD Bakshi SM,VSM(retd) wrote, “Just saw the Movie Fighter. A Great and befitting tribute to our Air Warriors. Thrilling action and aerobatics by the Sukhois. Dont miss the air combat. Hritik Roshan made a great fighter pilot. Gave Tom Cruise a run for his money. MUST SEE! @iHrithik.”

Hrithik replied, “It’s an honour to receive this feedback from you Sir. Thank you so much.” To which he said, “Keep up the Great Work Tiger. You do justice to combat roles. Hope to see u in many more. The boys in uniform need all the encouragement they can get.”

Director Siddharth Anand also reacted to his review. The filmmaker said, “Thank you so much sir. Your appreciation validates our labour of love.” The Army veteran replied, “Hi Sid. In ancient times Bards used to go from village to village singing Songs of Valour of heroes. That must not stop. Glad u are celebrating our heroes and doing it well.”

Released on January 25, Fighter stars Hrithik Roshan and Deepika Padukone in the lead. The film revolves around the Indian Air Force giving a befitting reply to the terrorism in Pakistan. It also stars Anil Kapoor, Karan Singh Grover, Akshay Oberoi, Sanjeeda Shaikh, Talat Aziz, Pradum Shukla, and Pradum Jaykar in pivotal roles. The film has earned over Rs 170 crore at the Indian box office as of now.
