Paul Jason Klein, the frontman of the Los Angeles-based pop-rock band LANY suffered grievous injuries after being hit by a car. The accident occurred on June 6 when the singer was returning home from the gym on a Vespa scooter. A week after the accident, the Tulsa, Oklahoma native shared his health update with fans in a joint Instagram post with his band. He dropped a set of pictures showcasing his bruises on the face. The post also came with a sad announcement that LANY’S A Beautiful Blur 2024 Australia and New Zealand tour has been postponed, due to Paul Jason Klein’s health condition.
In an elaborate write-up, Paul Jason Klein informed social media users about the harrowing accident. He claimed that he could not remember anything after the collision. When he woke up he found himself on a stretcher inside an ambulance. “I’ve cried a lot of thankful and happy tears during the last few days. I know how fortunate I am to still be here. All of my vitals are good, but walking and moving around is still a challenge. I’m getting progressively better though and will be at 100 percent really soon,” he wrote.
Paul Jason Klein continued that the doctors have advised him to reschedule his concert shows for a speedy recovery. Addressing the masses who have already purchased their tickets, the Malibu Nights singer asked them to “hold onto them” as new dates would be announced soon. “This experience has only intensified the feelings of purpose I have, so I can’t wait to heal up and get back to it. All other tour dates are staying the same. I love you and this life deeply! See you soon,” he concluded.
The first picture captured Paul Jason Klein lying on a hospital bed with his eyes closed. His face was covered in blood with deep cut marks on the forehead, cheekbone and chin. A cervical collar was warped around his neck. In the following snap, Klein sat on a chair, presumably at home with a bandage wrapped over his left leg. Despite the injuries, the 36-year-old proved to be a braveheart, showing a thumbs-up gesture to the camera with a bruised eye hinting that he was ready to get back on his feet.
According to LANY’s website, the band was set to perform in Australia on June 19, 23, and 28 before heading to New Zealand on June 30.
