Suhani Bhatnagar's Mother Opens Up On Their Bond With Aamir Khan: 'If We Would Have Messaged Him...'
Suhani Bhatnagar played the role of Junior Babita Phogat in the Aamir Khan starrer. She passed away on Saturday.

Aamir Khan’s on-screen daughter in Dangal, Suhani Bhatnagar, passed away on Saturday morning at the age of 19. While the exact cause of her death remains unknown, Suhani, who used to live in Sector 17, Faridabad, will be cremated at the Ajronda crematorium in Sector 15, as per reports. Now, Suhani’s mother has opened up about their bond with Aamir Khan.

In an interview with E24, Suhani’s mom shared, “Aamir Sir has always been in touch with her. He is a nice person. We never shared this with him. We actually didn’t inform anyone. We were so disturbed by this.”

She further added, “Definitely, if we had messaged him, he would have immediately been there for us. In fact, even during his daughter’s wedding, he invited us. And in fact, he personally called us to be a part of his big day.”

Suhani was diagnosed with dermatomyositis and was prescribed steroids since that was the only cure for the ailment. However, the medication had a side effect on her immune system, leading to an infection that weakened her lungs and water accumulation in the vital organs. As a result, she had difficulty breathing and passed away on Friday. Suhani Bhatnagar played the role of Junior Babita Phogat in the Aamir Khan starrer.

Suhani Bhatnagar’s mother added that Suhani was performing well in college and that she had plans to return to acting after her graduation. She said, “She was performing very well in college; she even topped in the last semester. She was brilliant at everything and wanted to excel at whatever she wanted to do. Our daughter has made us very proud.”

Suhani’s debut film, Dangal, charted history in Bollywood. The sports drama was directed by Nilesh Tiwari. The inspiring biopic is based on renowned wrestler Mahavir Phogat and his daughters, Geeta and Babita Phogat. Suhani played the younger version of Babita, while Sanya Malhotra played the older Babita Phogat. Zaira Wasim stepped into the role of the child version of Geeta Phogat, while Fatima Sana Shaikh played the role of the elder Geeta Phogat. Dangal was made with a budget of Rs 70 crore. It grossed Rs 538.03 crore in India and a staggering Rs 1,960 crore worldwide.
