Telugu action thriller titled Saindhav created quite a buzz much before its release. After hitting the silver screens on January 13, during the Sankranthi festivities, the movie received mixed reviews from viewers and critics alike and bombed at the box office. It is directed by Sailesh Kolanu and is produced by Niharika Entertainment. Saindhav is fronted by Venkatesh Daggubati, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Arya, Shraddha Srinath, Ruhani Sharma, Andrea Jeremiah and Baby Sara. Now, it is gaining attention once again as it is gearing up for its premiere on Television. Saindhav failed to connect with the audience in the theatres; but it looks like after its OTT release, it might have another chance to reconnect with the audience. ETV has acquired the satellite rights for the movie and it is set to make its television premiere on March 17 at 6 pm.
The action thriller shows the dystopian world of Chandraprastha and Saindhav Koneru aka SaiKo — who is shown to have a dark past, but lives a normal life with his daughter Gayathri and caretaker. His world turns upside down when his daughter is diagnosed with spinal muscular atrophy. For the treatment, an injection is required which costs Rs 17 crore. This pushes him back to the world of crime to acquire money for his daughter’s treatment. He crosses paths with a ruthless gangster and soon a battle begins. Will he be able to save his daughter amidst the battle that forms the central plot of the movie?
The movie was first announced in January 2023 and was tentatively named Venky 75. In the same month, the first title poster of the movie was unveiled which left the fans buzzing with excitement. Reportedly, many scenes of the movie were shot in Sri Lanka. Finally, the release date of the movie was shared during the Ugadi festivities and the movie was slated to hit the theatres on December 22, 2023. The movie was finally released on January 13, 2024. Its digital rights were sold to Amazon Prime Video and Saindhav was available for streaming from February 3.
