Marathi actress Neha Pendse has recently garnered attention for her candid remarks about motherhood and her journey. In a recent interview with a media publication, she shared insights into her married life and her thoughts on becoming a mother.
During the interview, Neha candidly discussed her views on motherhood, revealing that for a significant period, she did not experience what she described as “maternal instincts.” She went on to explain that approximately one or two years into her marriage, she started to feel that maternal instinct and a desire to become a mother. This shift in her feelings came as a surprise to her, as she initially couldn’t comprehend why this newfound desire had suddenly emerged. She emphasized the significant responsibility that comes with having a child.
Neha deliberated on her feelings for eight months, contemplating her readiness for motherhood. Ultimately, she decided to take the step of freezing her eggs. She articulated her desire to become a mother but clarified that the timing was not right at that moment, stating, “Mujhe maa toh banna hai lekin Abhi nahi banna hai (I want to become a mother but not right now).”
She attributed this decision to an underlying feeling that something was preventing her from immediately pursuing motherhood. Her husband, Shardul Singh Bayas, supported her in this choice and suggested freezing her eggs. Neha Pendse confessed that her insecurities were still a factor in her decision, as she did not want to depend on anyone financially, nor was she prepared to have someone financially dependent on her. She acknowledged her realistic perspective on the demands of balancing work, household responsibilities, and the energy required to raise a child, stating, “I don’t consider myself a superwoman who can work, and look after the house and I don’t have that energy.”
Neha and Shardul Singh Bayas, her then-fiancé, celebrated their wedding on January 5, 2020. In a previous interview, Neha revealed that it was her husband who proposed to her after a three-month courtship.
Neha Pendse, renowned as a Marathi actress, initially made her mark in Bollywood as a child artiste. Her debut came with the film Pyar Koi Khel Nahi in 1999, directed by Subhash Sehgal and featuring actors like Sunny Deol, Mahima Chaudhry, and Apoorva Agnihotri. In addition to her film roles, she has gained popularity for her work in television, with notable appearances in shows like Bhabi Ji Ghar Par Hain and May I Come In Madam.
