Charges against Robert Vadra politically motivated: Moily
The Union Minister said that Arvind Kejriwal was making allegations to tarnish the image of Congress party.

Mangalore: The charges levelled by activist Arvind Kejriwal against Congress president Sonia Gandhi's son-in-law Robert Vadra over his business dealings with DLF were "politically motivated", Union Minister M Veerappa Moily on Sunday alleged. The Union Corporate Affairs Minister also alleged that the IAC activist was trying to tarnish the Congress's image. "Allegations against Vadra of getting favours from DLF are politically motivated and Kejriwal is trying to tarnish the Congress image," he told reporters in Mangalore.

On the Cauvery water sharing dispute, Moily rapped the BJP-ruled Karnataka government for "failure" to present ground realities in the Cauvery basin before the Supreme Court which directed the state to release water to Tamil Nadu. Opposing release of water, he said Tamil Nadu was on the verge of receiving rains this month and enough water was stored in Mettur dam. Attacking the BJP Government on corruption, Moily said all allegations levelled against BJP leaders would be probed if Congress returned to power in the state.

Addressing a Congress meet at the party office later, Moily urged the party workers and leaders to be united. Referring to Congress president Sonia Gandhi's proposed October 18 visit to the state, he said the party workers should take a pledge to work together and win the next elections, due early next year.
