Apple has been in the news for rolling out features in their upcoming models. Amid all the recent developments, many Apple users have reported that their Apple ID is being logged out without any specific reason. It has been found that the issue affected some Apple users who were first logged out of one or more devices and then were prompted to change their Apple ID passwords.
A large section of users were affected by this new bug. While Apple's System Status has not acknowledged the issue, many users were forced to change their password in order to log in again to their Apple accounts.
According to a report from 9to5Mac, some Apple users complained that they were abruptly logged out of their Apple IDs on their Macs, iPhones, iPads and other Apple devices. When the users attempted to sign back in, they were prompted with an error message that prevented their access.
The users were left with no choice but to reset their passwords. The bug had affected other Apple services like iCloud Drive, iMessage, FaceTime and the App Store. Once the passwords are changed, the app-specific passwords that are configured via iCloud will reset too. Several users reported problems with the latest bug. Many of them went to the microblogging platform X and posted their experiences.
One of the users posted, “I was mid FaceTime with @milesabovetech and my Apple account got locked, and I signed out of all of my Apple products.”
Another user posted a screenshot after his Apple account was logged out. He wrote, “Apple just demanded I enter my AppleID password, then after doing so, it requested my phone passcode, then locked my account and demanded I reset my AppleID password. Bizarre.”
While many tech platforms face authentication outages, this issue at Apple has impacted a huge number of Apple users across multiple product lines and services. In 2017, a similar lockout happened with the tech giant, which affected many back then.
