New Delhi: Following Meizu’s launch of its M1 Note yesterday, another China-based smartphone manufacturer, ZTE, is all geared up to launch its Nubia brand in India with a new bezel-less device.
Nubia unveiled it 2015 flagship device, the Nubia Z9, in Beijing on May 6 and it is expected to make its Indian debut today.
The Nubia Z9 smartphone will be bezel-free and have SLR camera. It will be available exclusively on Amazon.
The phone will be available exclusively on Amazon and while there is no word on the model type, earlier speculations point to either Nubia Z9 or Nubia Z9 mini with a 5-inch screen.
The ‘Unlimit Yourself’ campaign by Nubia only points to a “new Nubia smartphone with SLR camera and sophisticated design.” There is a possibility that Nubia Z9 mini will be launched for the Indian market as it makes more sense to unveil a recent model than an older one.
The Nubia Z9 boasts of a 5.2-inch borderless screen offering HD resolution with aRC technology. It features a design that makes it more ergonomic and easy to hold. As the phone is bezel-free, it makes use of the Frame interactive Technology (FiT) that allows users to control the phone by touching just the edge of the screen.
The phone includes a 16 megapixel rear camera with optical image stabilization and an 8 megapixel front-facing camera, a Snapdragon 810 chipset, and a 2,900mAh battery.
The Nubia Z9 comes in three variants: Classic, with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage for $564; Elite, with 4GB RAM and 64GB storage for $645; and Exclusive version with additional fingerprint sensor for $725.
Inspired by Xiaomi’s success in the Indian smartphone market, more Chinese companies are headed this direction to sell their products. ZTE and Meizu are the latest to follow the trend.
