At Just 1 Year And 152 Days Old, Ghanaian Boy Earns Title Of 'World's Youngest Male Artist'
With over 20 paintings to his credit, he recently participated in his first group event, The Soundout Premium Exhibition in Ghana.

At just one year and five months old, young Ace-Liam Nana Sam Ankrah from Ghana has made history by earning a place in the Guinness World Records. Ace-Liam is now recognised as the “world’s youngest male artist”, having created numerous paintings and even selling nine of them at an exhibition at such a tender age. His achievement has brought immense joy to his local community and garnered global admiration, leaving his mother brimming with pride.

Ace-Liam has captured the attention of both national and international media, drawing praise from the First Lady of the Republic of Ghana. With over 20 paintings to his credit, he recently participated in his first group exhibition, The Soundout Premium Exhibition, held at the Museum of Science and Technology in Ghana. While 10 of his artworks were displayed and put up for sale, nine were actually sold during the exhibition.

His mom, Chantelle, who is also an artist, discovered Ace-Liam’s passion for painting when he was just six months old. “While learning to crawl, I spread out a piece of unstretched canvas on the floor and dropped some paint on it as a way to keep him busy while I worked on a commission painting. He ended up spreading the paint all over the canvas, and in the process, he created his first masterpiece, titled The Crawl,” she said.

Chantelle also explained how her son has created a buzz and heightened the conversation about art appreciation and discovering and nurturing talents in kids.

Talking more about Ace-Liam’s passion for painting, his mother shared that he enjoys the freedom to explore and create without limitations. “Ever since he started talking, he would ask to paint, as it has become his favourite activity. Ace-Liam’s art is more about expression and exploration than conveying specific messages. His abstract paintings are inspired by the world around him; colours, shapes, textures, and his mood. Every painting is an expression of his curiosity and joy in discovering new things,” she added.

Meanwhile, as the kid now officially holds the record for the world’s youngest artist (male), his family is exploring opportunities to place him in an environment where his artistic talent could be nurtured through quality education. They are also hoping to seek international scholarships and international opportunities for his artwork.
