Kolkata's Popular 'Chhangani Club Kachori' Owner Abuses Customer In Viral Video

Lali Chhangani, known for his Chhangani Club Kachori in West Bengal’s Kolkata has created a stir online after a video of him hurling abuse at a customer went viral. The video that is doing the rounds on the internet shows the Kolkata food vendor preparing his famous kachori vessel filled with bhujia, potato curry and sprinkles of Indian spices.

When a customer told him, ‘Saaf-safai rakho Dukan pe (maintain hygiene in your shop),’ the owner got furious and started abusing him. Lali Chhangani yelled at him and shouted until the customer left the area. The onlookers present at the shop also pulled away the customer, asking him to leave the place without escalating the issue.

The video was shared with the caption, “Kalesh b/w Unhygienic Kachori wala Chacha and Customer over Customer said ki ‘saaf-safai rakho Dukan pe’ in Bengal.”

The now-viral video hit the internet on March 4, and since then, it has garnered more than 980,000 views and over 7,500 likes. Social media users chimed in to the comments section to share their take on the video. Many dubbed the food vendor as the most unhygienic kachori wala in India, while others suggested the food blogger to mind his own business and not eat from the place if he is not willing to. There were some who stated that the food blogger was using the food vendor for views.

An X user wrote, “Most unhygienic Kachori wala of India.”

“Pani Puri wale bhaiya se toh koi kuch nahi kehta!! Not supporting him, but to be honest people aren’t blind and if they like his food let them go, you don’t like them don’t go!!!!” added another.

A user commented, “Vloggers are using him for views. People eating there know what they are getting into. He forces no one to eat.”

“Mat khao bhai uske yahan. Kaunsa Ghar se bulane ja raha kisi ko (Don’t eat at his place brother. He is not going to call someone from home?” an account remarked.

An individual posted, “While the hygiene is nasty the food prolly tastes good to them.”

“This man single handedly destroyed India’s image in terms of hygiene,” a user mentioned.

This vendor, located in Kolkata’s famous market, Bara Bazar, is famous for serving this delicious deep-fried kachori in a unique style. The platter of happiness of Chhangani Kachori is served in a leafy bowl. Stuffed with Bhujiya and flavory potato curry, a single plate of club kachori costs only Rs 40.
