An 80-year-old man married a woman half his age after they fell in love on social media. This unique wedding took place in the Agar Malwa district of Madhya Pradesh. The love which blossomed between a 34-year-old woman named Sheela from Maharashtra and Baluram from Magaria village in MP resulted in a court marriage in Susner town. Baluram was highly active on social media and used to upload funny videos on Instagram with the help of his friend Vishnu Gujjar. Sheela was impressed with the funny reels and decided to contact Baluram via social media. Conversations that began on the networking platform have now resulted in them living together as husband and wife for life. Their unique love story is now going viral.
Baluram hails from Magaria, a small village of about 100 houses in Agar Malwa district. He was in severe depression about 2 years ago. Baluram has one son and three daughters. Each got married and now lives separately. Baluram’s wife died of illness thereafter.
After her death, he also started facing troubles due to increasing debt. His health started deteriorating and he reportedly went into severe depression. In this time of need, a man named Vishnu Gujjar came to his help who used to work in the tea shop along with the old man.
After observing his condition, Vishnu brought him to his hotel and made a reel of his jokes to welcome positivity in his life. The reel made in jest became popular. The duo started making more funny videos and uploaded them on Instagram. The videos started going viral. The reels gradually became so popular that everyone in the village started laughing and joking with Baluram and Vishnu Gujjar. Even in the surrounding areas, he gained fame by the name of ‘Balu Ba’. Due to this whole incident, he came out of depression and started living a happy life. Their followers reached thousands within a few months.
During this time, Baluram met Sheela Ingle – who lived in Amravati, Maharashtra – on social media. Both of them started chatting through Instagram. During the conversation, Baluram would tell his friend Vishnu to type his replies as he was unable to operate the Android phone. Impressed with his humour, Sheela fell in love with Baluram. Their love blossomed to such an extent that Sheela decided to marry the 80-year-old man. She left her home and reached Baluram’s residence. On Monday, April 1, both of them first reached Susner and had a court marriage. Later, they got married as per Hindu customs by garlanding each other in the temple located in the court premises.
