Viral: Internet Praises Poor Man For Prioritising Dog's Need Over His Own

There’s an old saying that suggests kindness needs a big heart and not necessarily a big wallet. The internet has recently stumbled upon an individual who is the true embodiment of this generous spirit. While the name of the person is still not known, netizens have been calling him ‘Babaji’. Babaji was found by an artist and influencer, sitting on a roadside amidst the urban hustle outside Purple Haze studio in Bandra, Mumbai. The influencer, Saad Khan captured him during a genuine act of kindness when he was sitting beside a dog and feeding him.

In a video that Khan shared, we can see an old man in tattered clothes, sitting on the pavement while his dog rested nearby. Khan asks Babaji about how he manages to prioritise the well-being of the little dog, going out of his way to arrange milk and dog food, over his own needs.

“You are not eating but you are taking care of him,” says Khan, to which the old man replies, “Of course I have to. Even when you have a child or a pet like I do, you have taken the responsibility to take care of them. Now you have to manage that however difficult it might be.”

“It (referring to the dog) has become very stubborn now,” he adds.

The caption of the video reads, “Met this incredibly kind Baba Ji with a heart of gold outside Purple Haze studio. Unsure of when he last ate, he prioritised feeding the doggo and managed to arrange milk and dog food for the little one. People like him teach us that it doesn’t take much to be kind.”

As soon as the video was shared online, it has been gaining popularity for the act of kindness performed by the man, who despite his own financial struggles, manages to share what little he has with his furry friend.

The video has been drawing attention and admiration from an expanding audience. Saan Khan, reflecting on the outpouring of love for Babaji, also shared in the comments, “It warms my heart to witness everyone showering love on Baba Ji. I’ll attempt to find him again, hoping to convey how much his kindness means to many.”

“Amazing human work, God Bless Both,” read another comment. Another viewer called him the “richest person in the world” while one of the users wrote, “Humanity above all.”
