According to the CPRO, a major upgrade is being implemented at Kaliyaganj railway station in North Bengal, which is a crucial station in the Katihar division of the NFR. This upgrade is part of a reconstruction program estimated to cost Rs 24.87 crore.
The construction of a 12-metre-wide foot-over bridge (FOB) at Kaliyaganj station is a noteworthy accomplishment. According to the CPRO, this modern FOB features robust infrastructure and an ergonomic design to accommodate future extensions, all of which enhance passenger mobility and safety.
Reportedly, the station will modernise the entire grounds and provide new passenger amenities, including facilities for individuals with disabilities, beyond the foot-over bridge. The Chief Public Relations Officer noted that adequate lighting and signage will be installed to ensure the station is secure and easily accessible for all customers.
By upgrading this station, new routes will open up, leading to more job opportunities, business ventures, and convenient transit for passengers. The renovated station will serve as a hub for local socioeconomic activity, fostering connectivity and economic development.
