Not Sreeleela, This Actress Was The First Choice To Play Female Lead in Skanda

Rashmika Mandanna is among the most promising young actresses in the country. She has impressed the audiences with her flawless acting abilities. The actress has done films across all south Indian languages and enjoys a massive fan following among. Rashmika has been in the news for her recent projects, and many directors are having her on board for some of the most highly anticipated films. Recently, there has been news that Rashmika was also offered a recently released film, Skanda. But, the actress rejected it because of her busy schedule.

Skanda was released in theatres on Thursday, September 28, and it was received well by the audiences. The film has been helmed by popular Tollywood director Boyapati Srinu and stars Ram Pothineni, Sreeleela, Saiee Manjrekar, and Prince Cecil in primary roles.

According to reports, the director of the film first went to Rashmika to narrate the story. He wanted her to play the female lead. Rashmika was highly impressed by the plot but couldn’t find dates for the project. Unfortunately, she had to reject the offer.

Finally, the role went to Sreeleela, who is being highly appreciated for her acting in the film. Skanda has opened to positive reviews from the audiences as well as the critics. The action drama earned Rs 11.50 crore (net) in India on Day 1.

Skanda has been produced by Srinivasaa Chitturi and Pavan Kumar under the banner of Srinivasaa Silver Screen. The music is composed by S Thaman and Santosh Detake will be handling the cinematography.

As Rashmika rejecting the offer for the movie, it gave Sreeleela a great opportunity to work with big names like Ram Pothineni and Boyapati Srinu.

Rashmika was last seen in the Netflix film Mission Majnu, opposite Sidharth Malhotra. She was also a part of Varisu, opposite Thalapathy Vijay. The blockbuster movie was her last theatrical release.

Currently, she is shooting for several films, including Animal with Ranbir Kapoor. It is directed by Arjun Reddy fam director Sandeep Reddy Vanga and is all set to release on December 1.

Apart from that, she also has Pushpa: The Rise with Allu Arjun in the pipeline.
