New Delhi: Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) Chairman Anil Ambani met his company's executive Gautam Doshi at the Tihar Jail in New Delhi. Tihar Jail authorities had given Anil Ambani the permission to meet Doshi on Wednesday evening.
Ambani was also granted the permission to meet another ADAG executive Surendra Pipara, who is admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS).
Doshi, Pipara and another senior ADAG executive Hari Nair are an accused in the 2G spectrum scam. The trio is lodged in Tihar Jail.
The 57-year-old Doshi is the Group MD of ADAG. He was handpicked by Anil Ambani in 2005 for his expertise in accountancy and taxation.
All the three have been charged with criminal conspiracy, forgery and cheating in the case. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had filed the chargesheet against them under the various sections of the IPC and the Prevention of Corruption Act relating to forgery, cheating, faking documents, giving and accepting illegal gratification for abuse of official position.
The CBI had charged that former telecom minister A Raja conspired with top bureaucrats, including a retired IAS officer, and corporate leaders to cause a loss of Rs 30,984 crore in the allocation of 2G spectrum.
