Young England batter Harry Brook scripted history in the ongoing first Test against Pakistan in Multan. After featuring in the highest-ever partnership with Joe Root in Test cricket for England, Brook notched up his first-ever 300 to become only the sixth English batter to reach this feat in the longest format of the game.
Andy Sandham of England was the first batsman to score a triple hundred in Test cricket, scoring 325 against the West Indies at Kingston in 1930. Other Englishmen to score 300 are Len Hutton (364), Wally Hammond (336 not out), Graham Gooch (333 not out) and Bill Edrich (310 not out).

However, he is the first batter from England to smash a Test triple hundred in Pakistan.
Triple hundred against Pakistan in Tests
Garry Sobers (WI), Kingston, 1958
David Warner (AUS), Adelaide, 2019
Mark Taylor (AUS), Peshawar, 1998
Virender Sehwag (IND), Multan, 2004
Harry Brook (ENG), Multan, 2024
The 25-year-old took 310 deliveries to get his first triple hundred in Test cricket, making him the second fastest-batter after India’s Virender Sehwag to reach the milestone. Though Brook bettered one of Sehwag’s feats, off 364 balls vs Pakistan in Multan in 2004, the former India opener still holds the record for the fastest triple hundred, reaching the feat in 278, vs South Africa in Chennai, 2008.

Earlier, Brook joined forces with his senior partner Joe Root in a record partnership for England in Test cricket. After scoring career-best double centuries, the duo stitched a colossal stand of 454 runs which is now the highest in any England-Pakistan Test, beating the 363 of Mohammad Yousuf and Younis Khan at Leeds in 2006, and it saw the visitors comfortably eclipse the hosts’ first innings 556.
Root, who went past Alastair Cook’s 12,472 to become England’s highest Test run scorer on Wednesday, scored 262 before Agha Salman trapped him in front. The former captain bettered his previous best score of 254 was also against Pakistan at Manchester in 2016.
Brook was finally dismissed by Saim Ayub for 317 as England were close to breaching the 800 mark and taking a lead of 260-plus in the first innings. Brook has made rapid strides at the international level since making his debut in 2022. He knocked three centuries against Pakistan in 2022 – in only his second series, which England won 3-0.
