The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started the online application for the Scheme for Residential Education for Students in High Classes in Targeted Areas (SHRESHTA) 2024 National Entrance Test. The candidates can file their application on the National Testing Agency’s official website at shreshta.ntaonline.in.
The instructions are mentioned on the registration portal and there is no application fee for the online registration process. The candidates can fill the online from March 12 to April 4. The SHRESHTA scheme aims to benefit students from Scheduled Caste (SC) backgrounds by admitting them to the top private residential schools affiliated with CBSE across the country.
The scheme is for 9th and 11th grade SC students, whose entire school and hostel fees will be covered by the state. It will benefit 3,000 students, 1500 from class 9 and 1,500 from class 11, who score well in the SHRESHTA 2024 National Entrance Test. The candidates can attempt the paper in either English or Hindi. The exam will last for 180 minutes or 3 hours. It will be held from 2 pm to 5 pm on May 24, 2024.
SHRESHTA NETS 2024: Important Dates
Here’s a list of important dates for the upcoming SHRESTHA 2024 National Entrance Test
–– Submission of online application form: March 12, 2024 to April 4, 2024 (Until 5 PM)
–– Option to make corrections in application form: April 6, 2024 to April 8, 2024
–– Admit card release: May 12, 2024
–– Date of examination: May 24, 2024
–– Result: Within four to six weeks after the exam.
SHRESHTA NETS 2024: Eligibility criteria
–– Students must belong to scheduled castes.
–– Students should be enrolled in either 8th or 10th grade.
–– Parental annual income should not exceed Rs. 2.5 lakh.
–– Candidates appearing for 9th grade should be born between 01-04-2008 and 31-03-2012 (i.e., 16 to 12 years of age as of 31.03.2024).
–– Candidates appearing for 11th grade should be born between 01-04-2006 and 31-03-2010 (i.e., 18 to 14 years of age as of 31.03.2024.

SHRESHTA NETS 2024: Exam Pattern
The exam will consist of 100 questions in total, with the paper being worth 400 marks. The distribution of questions is as follows: 30 questions from Mathematics, 20 questions from Science, 25 questions from Social Science, and 25 questions from General Awareness. Candidates will receive 4 marks for each correct answer, and there will be no negative marking for incorrect or unanswered questions.
