How to Save Pictures on Facebook Messenger on iPhone or iPad

Open Facebook Messenger.

Launch the Messenger app. It's an app with a blue chat bubble and a white lightning bolt inside, typically found on your home screen.

Select a conversation with a picture.

Tap any chat to open it. If you don't see the picture you want to download, scroll to it now.

Tap the picture you want to download.

Tapping the picture opens it in full-screen mode. Now you'll be able to download it.

Tap the "Share" icon.

It's the square with an up-pointing arrow at the bottom of the screen. The sharing menu will appear.

Tap "Save Photo."

This downloads the photo to your iPhone or iPad. You can find the photo in the Photos app.
